» Welcome to the World of Bursitis Relief
Joints in our bodies are protected by cushions that are filled with fluid. If those cushions suffer from inflammation then Bursitis can occur. Read below for more information or see the bursitis products on the right hand side of the page for some relief from your foot problems.
» Diagnosis of Bursitis
The general diagnosis for Bursitis is a foot that aches, is difficult to move and has become swollen or inflamed. As stated above, Bursitis is an inflammation of the foot cushions that are meant to protect the joints in the body. Relief for this condition is found through a variety of treatments.
» The Cause of Bursitis
Simple aging is the main cause of Bursitis. When you get older, the cushions that protect your foot joints tend to wear down and this can lead to inflammation and pain. Twisting and turning of joints, or overusing them in any fashion, can also result in Bursitis. So, as you age, you naturally put more wear and tear on your foot joints and relief can become more and more difficult to achieve.
» Bursitis Symptoms
Bursitis usually happens on the knees, feet, elbows and shoulders but theoretically it can happen anywhere there is a joint. Bursitis of the foot usually happens on the heel of the foot but it can also occur on the ball of the foot and other places. Typical Bursitis symptoms can include a burning feeling, general pain and inflammation or swelling. You might also experience muscle weakness or difficulty in moving a joint.
» Help for Bursitis
The first thing that you will want to do is to stop moving the affected foot joint. This will at least give you some temporary relief. You might also want to apply an ice pack to relieve the swelling and burning sensation. Pain relievers may be appropriate for some people but be sure to check with your doctor before you take any pain medications. By using cushioned insoles you can relieve some of the pressure and also, be sure to wear some comfortable shoes.
